Best Shops for Plus Size Women Clothing in Nairobi : Series 1

A while ago, i had such a struggle finding stores that sold plus size attire without compromising on my style. Most of the stalls which claimed to sell plus size clothes had these very boring stuff which was so upsetting. Just because somebody is a plus size doesn’t mean they want to go through all their life in deras or oversized clothes. Please don’t get it twisted I have nothing against deras. Infact i have a couple but you just can’t live in them forever.

I’m glad nowadays there are a couple of stores which have pretty awesome stuff for this niche. I have compiled a list of the stores that are worth visiting for great plus size apparel here in Nairobi. For starters today i’m sharing with you THREE stores in no particular order whatsoever. These are stores which i have either bought from or seen their collection and can vouch for without any hesitation.

  1. Lyl Fashion

Easy wedding guest outfit – Ankara fashion

Have you been invited for a wedding and don’t know what to wear?

The last wedding i attended, i noticed a handful of guests were wearing white! As a wedding guest, i try to spare all white, off white, cream or any color that takes after a white wedding gown for another day. As tempting as it might be to wear these colors, i always remember that this is the brides day and she is the one who should have that very special attention.

Nowadays there are so many options at hand which can be worn for weddings. Weddings are happy days hence this is the perfect time to play around with bright colors. If you are not sure about what to wear for a wedding and there is no specific dressing code, you can simply go for an ankara kimono. It’s simple and stylish. The beauty about ankaras is that most fabrics come in bold colorful patterns.

Using hues of green, blue, yellow and black, i was able to brighten my look with this kimono outfit. The stretchy yellow skirt was a great comfortable piece which brought out the ensemble together.

I neutralized the whole look with a black top. Jewelry that goes with my attire is an absolute. I hence chose to keep it simple with the rectangle gold coated earrings. The low heeled suede blue pumps are not only cute but super comfy because i can wear them for hours without getting exhausted.

As always thanks for stopping by!

Kimono love affair : Stylish scarf idea

It was around April 2017 if I’m not wrong! I was strolling around Jamia Mall in Nairobi Kenya, looking for a piece that would add some zest to my wardrobe. I then came across this bubbly lady in one of the stalls on the ground floor. Before I even expressed my shopping concerns, she had already welcomed me introduced herself and was like “You will love this kimono‘ The moment I tried it on I was absolutely smitten. Up to date, my close friends can attest my drool over kimonos is real. I’m always in the mood for this attire. It’s actually one of my wardrobe staples.

Borrowed from the Japanese, the beauty about Kimonos is that it adds vibrancy to almost all attires. You can throw it over your dresses, shorts, jeggings and even beachwear. If i’d say, it’s the cherry on the cake!Today I’m serving you the delicate laced kimono with floral patterns. The sheer lace not only allows your outfit to be seen but also adds abit of texture to the outfit. This look is my definition of pure elegance.

The animal printed detail is actually a scarf tied around my waist. I’ll be talking more about styling scarf ideas in my future posts. This is what I’d dress when I’m going for brunch with the ladies or lunch date.

Style serving: Delicate jungle green lace kimono worn over black body corn dress with a touch of animal printed scarf

Thanks 😊for stopping by.

Stay safe and have a great day.
