Alternatives to Jeans, casual

What can i wear instead of JEANS?

Most of you have requested for casual alternatives to the classic jeans. I’m excited to let you know that today i’m going to be sharing with you a stylish option that will work perfectly well as a casual outfit.

I adore my classic jeans and jeggings but truth be told, there are certain occasions when dresses will work well compared to these pieces. Today i’m rocking this black stripped knee length dress. Its one of the perfect alternatives to jeans when dressing casual.

The material stretches so well which is very essential for me as a size 16. I love the fact that the material is not too clingy. The height works well for me and the comfort is superb. Of course i paired it with white canvas, my favorite for weekends when I’m up and down running my errands for that extra comfort.

When you are done with errands and want to elevate that casual look, you can swap the canvas with sandals. Just remember to get sandals which are comfy and easy to move around with. Throwing in a slim belt will also give you that sassy look.

I hope you are inspired by this casual alternative look to jeans.

4 Top Tips of Selecting Your Jumpsuits – Plus Size Fashion Hacks

Confession time: For the longest time, i never used to wear jumpsuits!

I used to look at jumpsuits from afar because of the experience ‘i’d had at a friends birthday party after wearing some other frumpy ones. Omg what was i thinking then…lets just say the experience was horrible for lack of a better word!

The attire was stiff and ninety percent of the time instead of enjoying the occasion, i kept on pulling it down. As if that was not enough, i noticed from the birthday photos that the suit highlighted specific areas on my body in such a tasteless way. From that day on wards i vowed never to wear jumpsuits again and concluded that this jumpsuit thing was not for me as a size 16.

Today I’m dazzled to say that this narrative has changed and i have no issue with jumpsuits. In fact they are one of my go to outfit for those casual looks. I now know better and will gladly share with you some jumpsuit guidelines which I’ve learnt.

Theses tips will save you big time when it comes to selecting your pieces. You will not keep pulling your jumpsuit down like i did at my friends birthday party hahaha!

Without further ado let me jump right into the what to consider when shopping for a jumpsuit as a plus sized woman:

  1. Highlight your waist area

Defining your waist area when rocking a jumpsuit as a curvy woman is very key. Going for very loose fitting jumpsuits will not do you any justice. This will only make you look like a sponge bob and i’m sure you don’t want that.

Highlight your waist area by either opting for a belt or going for pieces which cling to your waist area. Make sure that it’s slightly above your natural waistline for that elegant look.

2. Wide Legged

As a plus size, stay away from those very skinny jumpsuits. Wide legged types will streamline your ensemble for that perfect look.

3. High quality stretchy fabric

I cannot emphasis enough on how this works like a gem for those curvy body frames. The secret here is to go for those soft, high quality materials that have a great stretching capability which are not only comfortable but give that elegant look as it drapes smoothly on your body.

Stiff fabrics which don’t stretch keep on pulling up which in turn doesn’t give you that chic look altogether. Examples of these high quality stretchy fabrics are spandex which comfortably stretches with your body structure.

4. Complementing necklines

A neckline can kill or nail your entire jumpsuit look especially if you have wide hips. Open necklines such as V-necks or wide necks, tend to look much much better on plus size women as they elongated the neck balancing out your style for that polished look.

Jumpsuits are such an elegant option when you feel like breaking from the dresses and skirts. This is a trend curvy women who might be shying away from like i used to, should try incorporating in their wardrobes.

I hope this hacks inspire you to try on jumpsuits as an alternative on your casual days. I will be humbled if you shared this post with somebody who might love such content. Let me know your thoughts on this post and what you’d like to see more in this platform by commenting below.
